Mrs. Minerva (M.E.) Lillie, 88 of Bandon. Born in Dollar Co., Mo.
in 1849, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Finley Snead. When she was 2
years old the family came across the plains in a wagon to Oregon.
Settling first in the vicinity of Salem, later moved to Canyon. The
family came to Coos county in 1863 when she was 14. In 1864 she
married David Doyle and lived in Coquille at the place now known as
the Charles Offield home. To them was born: David Wellington, Melissa
(deceased), Cassius Monroe, Drury Revis (deceased), Robert
Ledward Lee, Elizabeth Hone, Elmer Ellis and William Burton (deceased).
Mr. Doyle was killed in the Coquille mill in 1882. Mrs. Lillie then
took up a premption claim on Rink Creek. Later she married Albert
Lillie in 1889. Three children were born to them: Clyde (deceased).
Rose and Albert. She is now residing in Bandon.
