The original Lambs were Quakers. They arrived in 1665 from England and settled at Hertford, Perquimans Co, NC.
They were Quakers untill the Cival War. At that time Barnabas Lamb told his children that killing was wrong and slavery was wrong, so they would have to make their own decisions. All of his sons joined the Union Army and William was killed in the fighting.
