I am Lance Wentz, and in my spare time I like to write computer programs. I wrote a program to solve the Rubic's cube, then re-wrote it to solve any size cube for 2 x 2 x 2 to 50 x 50 x 50. And I have written several other projects.

I took some time off from work in December 2012 while the kids had their break from school. I decided to write some computer games. I wrote Tetris, Asteroids, and Missile Command. Since then, I have started several other games. Then I realized that I have not actually finished any.

So, I decided to finish a few and post them to my web site.

These are all written in Java. You can download and play these games. They download as executable jar files. You may also need to install Java on your computer. These games require Java 7. http://www.java.com

Tetris. Started December 2012, finished November 2013. Download

The original Tetris game was created in 1984 by Russian Alexey Pajitnov.

I have read several websites that say Tetris is a good starting game. It has some of the basics of what all computer games should have. Animation, user input, stores high score file, and sound. This game plays the "Tetris song" in the back ground.
Rubic Cube simulator. August 2012. Download

I've written multiple Rubic Cube simulators over the years. My first one was in high school on a Apple II computer in Apple BASIC. I keep a print out of the source code. Then after taking a few college computer classes, I thought about rewriting it in C++. The college classes taught about structured code, and how to write code that was easy to follow and read. I looked at my printed source code, and it was totally spaghetti code.

This version allows you to choose which size cube you want to solve from 1X to 21x plus 50x.
Classic paper and pencil game of Dots. March 2014. Download

This is a simple game, no animation or sound. But it does have something none of my other games has yet. It has an achievement system. There are 10 achievements that run across the bottom of the window. When you reach an achievement, it lights up, and records the date.

It is not easy, but it possible to beat the computer. The computer never makes a mistake. Can you beat the computer?
